Full job description
Squirrel Hill Health Center is seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Assistant to join our care team. The Medical Assistant will provide direct patient services in exam rooms, ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). This role involves patient preparation, specimen collection, diagnostic testing, vaccine administration, prescription coordination, and collaboration with clinical and front office staff to deliver high-quality, team-based care. Must be available and willing to work in all SHHC locations.
Key Responsibilities:

Greet and escort patients to exam rooms.

Record vital signs, medical history, and other patient information in the EHR.

Perform lab tests, diagnostic procedures, and administer vaccines as directed.

Maintain clean, organized workspaces and exam rooms.

Collaborate with other departments to provide quality care.

Communicate effectively with patients, clinicians, and staff.

Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:

Medical Assistant Certification preferred.

Proficiency in computers, EHR systems, and medical equipment.

Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding preferred.

CPR certification required.

Fluency in English; additional language skills preferred.

Must have all CDC-recommended immunizations.
