Account Executive — New York Territory

Vangst is the leading staffing and recruiting platform for the cannabis industry. We’re hiring an Account Executive to own new logo acquisition across New York — one of the most important and fastest-growing cannabis markets in the country.

This is a pure new-business hunting role. You’ll build relationships with cannabis operators across the state, develop a deep understanding of the New York market, and bring new customers into Vangst’s growing book of business.

What You'll Do

  • Own new logo acquisition for the New York territory — pipeline, qualification, and close

  • Build and execute account plans targeting top New York cannabis operators

  • Develop a referral network across trade associations, security firms, lab testing providers, and compliance consultants

  • Partner with Vangst leadership on territory strategy and account prioritization

  • Manage your pipeline and forecasting in CRM (HubSpot)

  • Re-engage lapsed New York accounts as new logo opportunities

  • Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth customer handoffs and support What You'll Need

  • 4+ years of B2B sales experience, including 2+ years in a quota-carrying new-business role

  • Proven track record of bringing in net-new customers

  • Based in New York with the ability to travel statewide weekly

  • Cannabis industry experience strongly preferred

  • Strong consultative selling and pipeline management skills

  • Comfort working independently and owning a territory

  • Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot preferred) Compensation

  • Base salary of $70,000, with eligibility for $75,000 at 6 months (NYC metro candidates: $90,000–$110,000 base)

  • Uncapped 2.5% commission on new logo revenue

  • On-target earnings scale with performance — Y1 target ~$95–100K, growing to $145K+ as territory matures
