Cost Accountant

Location: St. Louis, MO (Fully Onsite)

Pay: $35.00–$46.00/hour

Job Type: Temporary (Potential for Permanent Hire)

Start Date: ASAP

We're seeking a Cost Accountant to join a global manufacturing organization in St. Louis, MO. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing accounting professional to make an immediate impact in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare plant financial budgets and forecasts

  • Perform monthly close activities and variance analysis

  • Develop and maintain product cost standards

  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations

  • Monitor plant cost performance and issue monthly KPI reporting

  • Ensure consistency in cost expense categorization across manufacturing plants

  • Support internal and external audits

  • Assist with SOX compliance and internal controls

  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 3+ years of cost accounting experience

  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP experience

  • SOX compliance or audit experience
