Responsibilities

  • Follow documented mechanical inspection process instructions to evaluate incoming parts and materials.

  • Verify that mechanical parts meet inspection plan and drawing requirements, including dimensions, features, and quality standards.

  • Document part rejection reasons clearly and accurately, and communicate them according to the Material Review Board (MRB) process.

  • Process shortage and urgent parts ahead of other workload to support production and customer needs.

  • Systematically maintain accurate inspection and receiving records using the appropriate systems and tools.

  • Expedite shortages and high-priority items within the mechanical inspection area to minimize delays.

  • Move accepted and inspected material to the stockroom or designated storage locations as needed.

  • Support shipping and receiving activities as required, including material handling, packaging, and inventory control tasks.

  • Perform other duties as defined by department management to support overall quality assurance and material flow.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate inspection, receiving, and inventory records, including basic Excel data entry.

  • Ability to work on your feet and/or seated for extended periods of time (6–8 hours per day).

  • Ability to repeatedly lift boxes weighing approximately 30–50 pounds.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when documenting inspection results and rejection reasons.

  • Comfort working with spreadsheets and basic data entry for tracking inspection and receiving activity.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload based on production needs and shortage status.

Why Work Here?

You will join a quality-focused environment where your attention to detail and reliability directly support smooth operations and on-time production. The role offers the opportunity to build hands-on expertise in inspection, inventory, and material handling while working with a supportive team. You will gain experience in structured quality processes, including MRB and documented inspection procedures, and develop skills that are valuable across manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain roles.

Work Environment

This role is based in a mechanical inspection and receiving area that interfaces closely with the stockroom and shipping/receiving functions. You will spend much of the day on your feet or seated at an inspection station for 6–8 hours, handling mechanical parts and materials.
