Hiring For Aerospace Quality Control Inspector $23-25/hour

Job Description

The Quality Inspector verifies product conformance to design requirements and provides objective evidence of inspection results. This role performs auditing, surveillance, and monitoring activities, identifies and documents discrepancies, and segregates and controls non-conforming items. The Quality Inspector conducts preliminary review and disposition of non-conformance, leads product reviews with customers during product or process verification, and initiates requests for corrective action when repetitive or significant non-conformances are identified. Under limited supervision, this position inspects incoming parts and materials, verifies outgoing orders and certifications, checks parts for processing and special orders, makes daily use of precision measuring tools, and provides mentorship to the Inspection team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct dimensional inspections in accordance with design records and documented AQL (Acceptance Quality Limit) levels.

  • Perform visual inspections to identify obvious defects and ensure product quality.

  • Review and disposition all certification documentation to meet traceability requirements in alignment with AS9100 and internal quality standards.

  • Communicate with vendors as needed to resolve certification, quality, or documentation issues.

  • Segregate, disposition, and control non-conforming product to prevent unintended use or shipment.

  • Obtain and maintain Customer Designated Supplier Quality Representative stamps for at least three customers, or as applicable based on site size, and actively use these stamps in daily work.

  • Review and approve First Article Inspections from suppliers to verify initial production meets design and quality requirements.

  • Identify and communicate opportunities to increase inspector productivity and support continuous improvement within the inspection function.

  • Assist with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities related to inspection findings and non-conformances.

  • Support internal, customer, and third-party audits by providing inspection records, objective evidence, and process explanations.

  • Inspect incoming parts and materials to ensure they meet design and certification requirements.

  • Verify outgoing orders and associated certifications for accuracy, completeness, and conformance.

  • Check parts for proper processing and confirm that special orders meet specified requirements.

  • Use micrometers, gauge controls, calipers, indicators, and other precision measurement tools on a daily basis.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to other members of the Inspection team to support skills development and consistent quality practices.

  • Perform document control tasks such as printing, scanning, reviewing, and organizing inspection-related documentation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Enfield, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
