Overview

What You’ll Be Doing

Cadmus is seeking a highly motivated senior-level specialist to provide program support on underground injection control, groundwater protection, and policy development. The successful candidate will be a part of a coordinated effort to support the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Water on policy and technical issues related to subsurface injection operations such as carbon geologic sequestration, enhanced oil recovery, and deep well injection of hazardous and nonhazardous wastes.

Responsibilities

  • Review information related to geologic settings, geologic site characterization, formation petrophysical properties, injection wells, and other aspects of the siting and operation of proposed subsurface injection projects.

  • Conduct background research and literature reviews of subsurface processes and/or site-specific geologic investigations.

  • Research and write high-quality deliverables for clients.

  • Provide logistical and administrative support for Cadmus project staff.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision, or in a team, as needed.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience and Bachelor's or Master’s degree in natural sciences (e.g., geology, geochemistry, or earth science).

  • A working understanding of the Underground Injection Control regulations, particularly related to geologic sequestration wells, and the process by which EPA grants primary enforcement/ oversight authority to states.

  • Fluency in MS Office applications.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Understanding of one or more of the following areas: geology, structural geology and stratigraphy, or subsurface flow and transport

Additional Information:

Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as a U.S Perm Resident or U.S. Citizen.

The hourly range for this position is $85.00 - $115.00. The actual hourly rate will be determined by several factors, including relevant work experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
