Full job description

Gathers, compiles, and synthesizes information for technology processes or systems of the Records Office. Makes recommendations or assists in making recommendations for development or enhancement of existing system. Assists with development of technical designs, specifications, and options for technical solutions for the Records office. Serve as the primary contact for system uses and operations between the Records Office and IRM; analyses and researches complex data and data collection; consults and advises the Registrar in the development and application of policies, programs, and procedures. In conjunction with IRM responsible for completing all testing of patches of Colleague (student information system) and other related software systems which impact the processes of the Records office (electronic transcripts transmittal process, degree audit and prerequisite programs etc.) Trains staff on systems operations, prepares reports, writes policies and procedures, develops technical documentation to include but not limited to designs, specifications, processes, workflows and other communications. Provide student enrollment and degree data to National Student Clearinghouse and correct any errors. Serves on internal and external committees as requested by the Registrar or Vice President of Student Affairs. This position will be located on the Midlands Technical College Beltline Campus. A high school diploma and experience in computer system development and modification. A bachelor's degree in a related area may be substituted for the required work experience. Moderate knowledge of capabilities and intricacies of information systems. Ability to understand and carry out moderately complex technical instructions and requests. Moderately complex ability to analyze and reduce to logical order complex technical data. Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner. Ability to work effectively with users, vendors, and other IT personnel. Ability to assist with identifying and resolving problems. Ability to assist with planning, directing, instructing, and reviewing the work of technical personnel. Ability to assist with providing status reports and other technical reports in a clear and concise manner. Expert level experience with Ellucian Colleague.
