Full job description

Our client, a Manufacturing Conglomerate company, is looking for a Prototype Assembler for their Twinsburg, OH location. Responsibilities:

  • The Prototype Assembler is responsible for performing electrical and mechanical assembly of RA Engineered-To-Order (ETO) cabinet systems.

  • This role requires interpreting electrical schematics, drawings, and specifications (both RA and customer-provided) and translating them into finished physical products.

  • Core responsibilities include wiring, wire preparation, component installation, labeling, and cabinet modification.

  • Interpret drawings, schematics, work orders, and specifications (RA and customer)

  • Perform mechanical assembly of components on panels and cabinets

  • Assemble/disassemble cabinet doors and accessories

  • Execute low-voltage, power, and signal wiring tasks

  • Select appropriate wiring, components, and securing methods

  • Strip, crimp, terminate, and secure wiring

  • Apply wire, component, and cabinet labeling

  • Maintain consistency and quality across multiple builds

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of electrical panel assembly experience

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics/blueprints

  • Experience with electrical cabinet assembly

  • Proficient with tools (drills, crimpers, torque wrenches, tape measures, etc.)

  • Ability to visualize and build from technical documentation

  • Capable of selecting components, determining placement, and executing assembly

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and basic math skills

  • Good dexterity and hand-eye coordination

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and work standing/kneeling for extended periods

  • 5+ years in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience in ETO manufacturing

  • High school diploma required; associate degree preferred

  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability for assigned builds

  • Collaborates effectively with upstream/downstream teams

  • Engages in problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts

  • Independently executes tasks while maintaining team coordination

  • Focused on delivering projects on time, defect-free, and cost-efficiently

  • Targets >75% billable efficiency (actual vs. quoted time)

  • Safety: Personal and team safety contribution
