Full job description

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting timely reporting, and partnering with leadership to provide meaningful business insight. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to improving processes and supporting organizational growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee core general ledger activity, including journal entries, account maintenance, and the integrity of financial data across accounting records.

  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to support accurate and complete financial statements.

  • Lead critical month-end close activities, including consolidation-related reporting and the preparation of recurring financial packages.

  • Prepare and interpret monthly, quarterly, and annual profit and loss and balance sheet analyses for management review.

  • Evaluate financial and operational performance, develop internal and external reports, and communicate findings to business leaders.

  • Build detailed cash forecasts each month and provide insight into cash flow trends and working capital needs.

  • Monitor revenue accounting practices, including deferred revenue activity, to ensure compliance with applicable accounting guidance.

  • Coordinate audit preparation for interim and year-end reviews, assemble supporting documentation, and respond to auditor requests.

  • Strengthen internal controls and recommend process enhancements that improve reporting efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.

  • Provide support on special projects and serve as a backup resource for the Controller when needed. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

  • At least 3 years of progressive senior-level accounting experience.

  • Demonstrated experience with month-end close, general ledger accounting, and journal entry preparation.

  • Strong background in account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.

  • Proven ability to perform financial analysis, prepare reports, and support budgeting or forecasting activities.

  • Experience working with cash forecasting, cash flow reporting, and revenue recognition concepts.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP and strong overall systems aptitude.

  • Ability to manage deadlines, work independently, and contribute in a highly visible role with cross-functional exposure.
