Summary

Play a critical role in food safety and product quality as a Cook Temperature Monitor on our Pack Out team. In this role, you will monitor temperatures of fully cooked products, perform thermometer calibration, and accurately document results through HACCP and production paperwork. You will work closely with supervisors, and line leads to quickly identify and communicate any products that do not meet required cook temperature specifications while supporting USDA questions, daily audits, SSOP checks, and Frigo Dwell checks. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented team member who takes pride in accuracy, follows food safety standards, and understands the importance of maintaining consistent quality in a fast-paced production environment.

Schedule : 2nd Shift

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform thermometer calibration and set up the temperature monitoring area.

  • Record cook temperatures using CAT 2 and/or manual thermometers as directed by the supervisor or management.

  • Document temperatures on HACCP and production paperwork.

  • Alert the supervisor or line lead immediately if product does not meet cook temperature specifications.

  • Respond to United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) questions and daily audits.

  • Perform Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP) checks for the area.

  • Ensure contact surfaces and walls are free of condensation.

  • Report condensation to the lead or supervisor.

  • Perform Frigo Dwell checks as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Reading and analytical skills.

  • CAT 2 Training.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Ability to work 8 hours or more in a stationary position or while moving throughout the work area.

  • Ability to work on wet, moist, dry, or greasy floors, including metal or plastic grating surfaces, for up to 4 hours in a single interval.

  • Ability to work from ladders and stairs.

  • Exposure to temperatures below 30 degrees and up to 75 degrees with ambient humidity.

  • Exposure to noise levels up to 95 dB and light intensity ranging from 50 to 100 foot-candles.

  • Ability to bend, twist, lift up to 10 lbs., reach, sit, and grasp as required by job tasks.

  • Exposure to chlorinated water (50 ppm), ammonia vapors (5 ppm), dry ice, caustic detergents, lubricating oils, hydraulic oils, and other chemicals commonly found in a poultry processing plant.

  • Must use and wear all required personal protective and safety equipment.
