Description

Reports to the Assistant Director of Workforce Development Operations;

Examples of Duties

  • Provides instruction for Certified Clinical Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy programs as directed and uses effective teaching methods

  • Responsible for monitoring and submitting daily sign-in sheets and other required forms in support of the program and documenting the progress of the students

  • Performs related duties as assigned

Typical Qualifications

  • Must hold a current Certified Clinical Medical Assistant certification (CCMA) as well as a Phlebotomy certification (CPT).

  • Minimum of three years of experience working in the field as a CCMA and have hands on experience in the following areas for at least 3 years or more:

  • Vitals

  • EKG's

  • Injections (Intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal),

  • Blood Specimen Collection (urine and other lab samples)

  • Infection Control and Aseptic Technique.

  • In addition to clinical skills, must have a broad command of Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology.

  • Possess working knowledge of front desk duties and the ability to obtain patient histories.

  • Strong computer skills using Word, Excel, and EMR

Supplemental Information

  • This is a part-time position working up to 26 hours per week.

  • Must be available to teach days, evenings, and weekends at any Atlantic Cape location

Defined Contribution Retirement Program (DCRP) (https://www.nj.gov/treasury/pensions/pension-active-dcrp.shtml)

Eligible part-time employees will be enrolled into the DCRP (Defined Contribution Retirement Plan) pension (https://www.nj.gov/treasury/pensions/pension-active-dcrp.shtml) . Employees contribute 5% of their base salary and the college contributes 3% of base salary. Investment options are managed through Prudential Retirement. Life insurance benefits through DCRP are payable to the beneficiary at 1.5X the member's salary.
