About Us:

SWD Inc. opened for business in March 1980 with three employees in a 9,000 sq. ft. leased facility and began black oxiding, cleaning, and pickling operations with used equipment. In late 1980, the company began passivating stainless steel and in 1981 purchased Fastener Sorting Corporation. Today, a recognized leader in the Metal Finishing and Fastener Sorting fields, SWD Inc. has over 250 employees and runs three shifts per day in its 250,000 sq. ft. facility just west of Chicago in Addison, Illinois.

Note: SWD is a Drug-Free workplace. All job offers are contingent on successful completion of a Background Check, Drug Screen, and Pre-Employment Physical.

What We're Seeking:

We are seeking a Warehouse Packer (Pack/Unpack). This full time position will be Monday-Friday, 2nd shift (3pm-11pm). This role may occasionally include weekends. The starting pay is $18.75/hour.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Pack customer jobs at the pack 3 and pack 4 machines

  • Hand pack when needed

  • Unpack jobs for all departments

  • Maintain cleanliness of work area

  • Operate the wrap machine

  • Operate the roll sorter

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

  • Practice safe work habits, following outlined policies and procedure

  • Operate a Forklift

  • Reviewing and comprehending Shop Orders

  • Be aware of SWD Inc., company policy and procedures, including the quality system as defined by QS-9000 and ISO-14001 and outlined in the SWD Inc.’s quality and environmental systems policy and procedure manuals.

  • Entry level position

  • Manufacturing experience is a plus

  • Basic reading, writing and math skills

  • Strong communication and listening skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment

  • Handle heavy equipment

  • Ability to work independently and with a team

  • Physical stamina and strength
