Full job description

Role: The Process Operator will operate, monitor, and maintain M2X’s biogas to methanol production systems. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for the operating facility, acting as the liaison between M2X and external stakeholders. This position will support engineering development, site acceptance testing (SAT), and field commissioning of modular, mobile biofuel plants. The operator will work closely with the Engineering and Manufacturing Teams to ensure accurate data collection, safe operations, and high equipment uptime. A strong candidate will have hands-on mechanical and electrical skills, familiarity with instrumentation and data acquisition, and the ability to work in a fast-moving, field-oriented environment. Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Maximize equipment uptime through proactive monitoring and maintenance

  • Provide clear daily reports on operating status, findings, and issues to broader team

  • Operate industrial systems; handle methanol storage and transfer to offtake partners

  • Read and understand operating procedures and provide comment

  • Collect and log data and verify equipment performance

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on systems

  • Assist engineers with Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and system commissioning

  • Maintain organized records of test results, calibration certs, and maintenance logs

  • Support installation and removal of test equipment at field sites

  • Ensure compliance with company safety protocols and regulatory requirements

  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for specialized equipment support

  • Manage inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables required for operation

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent applied training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial technology

  • 2+ years of experience operating or maintaining industrial or laboratory test equipment

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand/power tools and diagnostic instruments

  • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills and familiarity with sensors and control systems

  • Familiarity with Human Machine Interface (HMI) system operations

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams) and basic data analysis

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in outdoor or industrial environments as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in industrial testing, process operations, or field service

  • Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, or other industrial control system

  • Experience with biofuel, chemical, or renewable energy process equipment

  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and hazardous-materials handling

  • Track record of effective collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams

Pay Range and Compensation Package: $36-$48/hour (based on experience) Job Type: Full-time, On-site.
