Job Description:

  • Shift: Mid-shift 10:00 am - 10:30 pm

  • Reporting to Location: 6645 South Florida Ave, Lakeland, FL 33813

  • Identifies, intervenes, and stabilizes patients during transport under the direction of the medical director and EMS protocols.

  • Provides direct medical care to patients during transport consistent with established EMS medical protocols and guidelines. Establishes and manages advanced airways via intubation, Laryngeal mask airway (LMA), and/or cricothyrotomy as approved by EMS medical protocols.

  • Manages ventilators, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), and Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD) during transport.

  • Administers approved medications and narcotics consistent with EMS medical protocols. Infuses blood products consistent with EMS medical protocols.

  • Performs all required procedures consistent with EMS medical protocols. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to determine the nature of patient conditions and assess whether patients have pre-existing medical conditions [Required]

  • Ability to identify and treat life threatening conditions within the paramedic's field of practice [Required]

  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

Education:

  • Associate [Preferred] Work Experience:

  • 1+ experience emergency vehicle operations [Preferred]

  • Ambulance transport experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Required]
  • Licensed Paramedic (PARA) [Required]
  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL) [Required] OR
  • Driver's License (DL) [Required]
  • Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) [Required] OR

Pay Range:

$20.80 - $38.67 Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)
