Job Description

Location: Bowling Green, KY

Cannon Automotive Solutions, a division of Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping, has an immediate opportunity for a Shipping Supervisor in our Bowling Green, Kentucky Stamping Facility. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for coordination and expedites the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between sections/departments/customers according to production and shipping schedules or departmental/customer priorities. The ideal candidate will have prior experience reviewing part specifications and defects, be self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Summary of Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing the labour hours, shifts and schedules of each team member.

Requisition's material and establishes sequential delivery dates according to job order priorities and material availability.

Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.

Determines space requirements and position of shipment in boxcars and trucks and lays out position of shipment.

Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, and seals loaded boxcars and truck doors.

Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.* Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records, such as material inventory, in process production reports, scrap reports and status and location of materials.

Expedite critical orders.* Review and audit freight bills for billing accuracy. Respond to billing inquiries from external payment services.

Complete all relevant and required documentation prior to shift ending.

Maintain target inventory level for raw and finished good products, cycle counting and physical inventory.

Coordinates transportation of incoming and outgoing materials, assist shipping personnel with variety of shipping documents such as invoices, custom documents etc.

Computes amount of material required to complete job orders applying knowledge of production and manufacturing processes.

Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.

Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states.

Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment:

Screen customer requirements, forecasting and analyzing production requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience in steel or distribution of metals

3-5 years of shipping/receiving experience or any equivalent combination of experience

Knowledge of TS16949/ ISO 14001

Preferred Requirements:

Completion of education in Materials Management
