Located in Port Jefferson, the St. Charles Campus of Good Samaritan University Hospital combines advanced clinical expertise with a longstanding commitment to compassionate care. St. Charles Campus is Long Island's leading expert in pediatric therapy. The hospital's pediatric specialty program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and offers feeding therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy, and speech therapy for infants, children and adolescents.

St. Charles Campus is also home to the only Pediatric Brain Injury Unit on Long Island and is the only Pediatric Brain Injury Specialty Program in New York State accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). A team of clinicians, including pediatric therapists, psychologists and certified rehabilitation registered nurses, deliver the highest quality rehabilitation treatment and outcomes to help all children and their families thrive.

Job Details

Our Assistant Nursing Care Coordinator (ANCC) will:

  • Assist the Director of Inpatient Rehab in delegating and coordinating nursing care activities of all patients on the nursing unit. The patient population includes: Pediatric Acute Rehab patients, Pediatric and Adult Medical-Surgical patients, and adolescent medical withdrawal (detox) patients

  • Mentor, supervise, and evaluate the team to reach their full potential and inspire continual professional growth

  • Partner with an interdisciplinary team including, but not limited to, attending physicians, registered nurses (RN), and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.

  • Advocate for and build meaningful relationships with patients and their loved ones through safety intervention, emotional support and education.

What you’ll bring:

  • Passion for Pediatric Medical- Surgical & Rehab Nursing and an interest in growing as a leader in Nursing

  • 1-2+ Years of RN experience working in Pediatrics and Med/Surg in a hospital based environment

  • Previous leadership experience preferred

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required

  • Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration

  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) & Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are required

Salary Range

USD $54.97 - USD $66.00 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
