Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $20 - $20 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Porter:

• Wash, sanitize, and organize trays, utensils, containers, and food-contact surfaces used in fresh and frozen food preparation

• Work regularly in cold storage, production rooms, and freezer environments while maintaining productivity and safety standards

• Clean and maintain racks, carts, bins, shelving units, and floors in accordance with established cleaning schedules

• Ensure compliance with sanitation protocols for fresh and frozen food handling

• Follow safety procedures related to working in low-temperature environments, including the proper use of cold-weather protective gear

• Dispose of waste, food scraps, and packaging materials in designated areas according to company procedures

• Assist with deep-cleaning projects in refrigeration units and walk-in storage areas

• Use approved cleaning chemicals and equipment according to safety guidelines and operating procedures

• Monitor and report equipment issues, temperature fluctuations, and safety concerns to supervisors

• Support kitchen and sanitation teams by ensuring tools and equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and restocked as required

Available shifts:

Shift timings -1st Shift (Day), 2nd Shift (Evening) and Weekends

Job requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady

• Previous experience as a porter, dishwasher, or sanitation worker in food manufacturing or commercial kitchens is preferred

• Comfortable working in freezer and cold storage environments for extended periods

• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

• Effective communication skills with team members, supervisors, and other departments

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English proficiently

• Reliable attendance and punctuality

• Excellent time management and communication skills

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• Background check and drug screening required
