Job Description:

• 10 or 12 hour shift shifts

• Weekends/Holidays will be call basis

• W ill require call

• Assures appropriate traffic control in the operating room.

• Initiates the incident reporting mechanisms when indicated.

• Utilizes appropriate channels of communication when initiating change, reporting information or concerns.

• Promotes and contributes positively to intra and interdepartmental relations. Assists with the orientation of new employees and assumes unit responsibility when delegated by the nursing manager or director.

• Performs specialized nursing care in all phases of the peri-operative role.

• Assists with pre-and postoperative assessment of the patient and updates preference cards as needed.

• Performs surgical counts per policy and prepares operating room setup. Recognizes abnormal diagnostic laboratory data, blood gas values, radiologic data, and knows the implied significance of each.

• Recognizes emergency situations and reacts efficiently and appropriately.

• Assures patients' right to privacy, safety, and confidentiality at all times. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Computer proficiency required.

• Perioperative Nursing required.

• Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge, and skills required.

• At least two (2) years circulating and/or scrub experience required in a multi-specialty setting.

• Previous experience and working knowledge of computerized documentation required.

• Ability to stand for long periods of time required.

• Ability to consistently demonstrate clear communication skills and strong anticipatory skills required.

• Manual dexterity, lifting, pulling, pushing of equipment, heavy instrument sets, and patients required.

Education:

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Field of Study:

• Nursing Work Experience:

• 1+ of general nursing experience in an acute care setting. [Preferred]

• 2+ of nursing experience in the required specialty [Preferred]

• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]

Pay Range:

$37.39 - $69.54 Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)
