Description
SUMMARY
Responsible for the direction and actions of assigned crew, in the printing of jobs and meeting all customer and company quality and production requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform manual and machine operator tasks in the set-up, maintenance, and operation of a uv offset printing press including preventive maintenance on the press, press wash up, selecting stock and mounting paper on press.

Direct activities to make ready press according to specifications and obtain final color OK for printing job.

Understand and maintain detailed records of press and job performance, including good math skills.

Ability to effectively troubleshoot press problems and take corrective action to ensure work is printed to specifications.

Makes normal machine adjustments as directed and performs other maintenance commensurate with industry press operator experience.

Be familiar with basic and Ashton Potter specific 2nd press operator and rolltender job duties. Perform those duties for breaks or other situations as needed.

Performs tasks safely and in accordance with Ashton Potter safety and other work guidelines and procedures.

Able to perform/meet standards in production, quality and attendance.

Experience with training and directing crew activities to include maintaining color, register, and other print quality attributes, including basic press maintenance. Assist in the development of crew capabilities with the quartile system.

Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Computer proficiency is a plus. Needs to be fork truck certified. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Minimum 5 years press experience and/or training.
