In this position you will accelerate national adoption and integration of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s B·R·A·H·M·S biomarker assays through a peer-to-peer scientific dialogue in support of the company’s Medical Plan for the implementation of novel diagnostic solutions in diverse indications with a focus on maternal fetal medicine. You will stay abreast of current trends, engage with professional stakeholders, and collect scientific insights pertinent to the medical strategy and new clinical research or product claims.

Remotely based in a major city with easy airport access.

What will you do?

  • Educate internal stakeholders and external customers on disease states applicable to our biomarker portfolio particularly for prenatal screening

  • Interact as a consulting expert with customers to assist in the development of pathways/ protocols to improve clinical practice and patient management

  • Respond to off-label medical information requests with fair-balanced scientific and technical assay and disease state information and serve as the disease and assay clinical expert

  • Systematically identify and profile Advisors, Key Opinion Leaders, and other influencers within the therapeutic areas of interest to TFS and proactively nurture a scientific dialogue and respectful relationship with these individuals

  • Attend scientific medical congresses, hold scientific conversations in Medical Affairs conference settings, prepare conference reports and create medical post-meeting communications

  • Generate scientific and medical insights to inform the medical and clinical strategy of the business

  • Identify potential opportunities with leading researchers in the field as consultants and for future research projects in accordance with the company’s areas of interest and channel collaboration proposals to the internal review board

How will you get here?

Be a self-starter with a passion for the advancement of patient care through clinical education, scientific engagement and professional networking. The position requires 3 to 4 days of travel per week that may include multiple overnights (2 to 3 overnights per week).

Education

  • Graduate degree required.

  • Advanced scientific degree (MSc, PhD, MD) with at least 1-2 years' experience in the field of maternal fetal medicine strongly preferred (healthcare industry or hospital setting).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong communication skills both in writing and via formal presentation

  • Excellent problem solving and persuasion skills and the ability to create success by professionally presenting Thermo Fisher Scientific (TFS) to both individuals and multidisciplinary groups

  • Capability for scientific, creative and strategic thinking, and an ability to present and maintain fair-balanced during scientific discussions/presentations

  • Demonstrated comprehensive skills in establishing and maintaining relationships with a wide range of external thought leaders including physicians, pharmacists, and allied healthcare professionals.
