Job Description
Plant Clerk - Arkema Inc. (Calvert City, KY)
Position Summary
Arkema Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Plant Clerk to support manufacturing operations at our Calvert City, Kentucky chemical production facility. The Plant Clerk plays a critical role in providing administrative and production support for a 24/7 manufacturing environment by maintaining production records, calculating production rates, coordinating employee schedules, supporting payroll and timekeeping processes, and ensuring the accuracy of operational data. Plant Clerks are part of the bargaining unit represented by Teamsters Local 236.
Key Responsibilities
Calculate and maintain production rates and production-related metrics for manufactured products.
Compile, verify, and enter production data into company systems.
Maintain accurate records and reports related to daily manufacturing activities.
Schedule production employees across multiple shifts in a continuous 24/7 manufacturing operation.
Assist with employee timekeeping processes and payroll data preparation.
Review time records for accuracy and resolve discrepancies as appropriate.
Prepare routine reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence.
Support plant operations through data entry, record retention, and administrative coordination.
Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, payroll, and management personnel.
Maintain confidentiality of employee and production information.
Perform other clerical and administrative duties as assigned to support plant operations.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Strong typing and data entry skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Outlook.
Ability to work accurately with numbers and production data.
Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using SAP or other manufacturing/ERP software systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets, formulas, and data organization.
Previous clerical, administrative, payroll, scheduling, or manufacturing support experience.
Experience working in a manufacturing, chemical, industrial, or 24/7 production environment.
