Amentum is seeking a Army MET Trained SATCOM Technician Lead– Ascension Island to support the Space Force Range contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot satellite communication systems in alignment with MET training standards.

  • Conduct routine and emergency SATCOM maintenance, including RF subsystem, antenna systems, and power distribution units.

  • Perform AFWET diagnostic procedures and testing on wideband SATCOM terminals and associated equipment.

  • Monitor system performance, detect anomalies, and implement corrective actions to ensure uninterrupted communications.

  • Maintain accurate technical records, logs, and reports in accordance with Space Force protocols.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior personnel and cross-functional teams.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • AS Degree in Electronic Technology, or two-year technical school, equivalent military experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 5+ years and proficient with DSCS/AFWET/WGS SATCOM Earth Terminal equipment and operations.

  • Army MET certification.

  • Familiarity with military communication protocols, encryption, and cybersecurity standards preferred.

  • Previous deployment or assignment in austere or forward-operating locations preferred.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Frequently move, transport, install and position equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to drive manual transmission

  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship

  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License

  • Valid U.S. Passport or ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire

Compensation Details:

$78,000 - $82,500 annually

The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
