Full job description

What you get to do: As a Painter you’ll roll up your sleeves, get your hands dirty and apply paint coatings to all surfaces needing aesthetic coloring or protection. This includes proper surface preparation, proper application of coatings, clean up, and proper disposal of all debris.

You will also:

  • Ensure excellent customer service by responding to customer requirements, expectations, and needs

  • Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler

  • Select premixed paints, or mix required portions of pigment base and thinning and drying substances to match specific colors

  • Remove fixtures such as pictures and electric switch covers from walls prior to painting

  • Properly prepare surfaces using power and hand tolls or chemical strippers when needed

  • Spread drop cloths over floors and room furnishings, and cover surfaces such as baseboard, door frames, and windows with masking tape and paper to protect surfaces while painting

  • Apply coatings to surfaces with brushes or paint rollers and apply primer when needed

  • Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to perform tasks above ground level

  • Wash surfaces with mildew remover prior to painting when needed

  • Perform any task assigned by supervisors including shop paperwork and shop maintenance

  • Other duties as assigned What it takes to succeed:

  • A minimum of two years related experience

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Have a High School diploma or general education (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Shift start time is typically 5:00 AM, Monday–Friday, with weekends as needed. Must be available to work Monday–Friday.

  • DRIVER'S LICENSE IS REQUIRED : Must have and maintain a valid U.S. state-issued driver’s license. Out-of-state residents, active military members, their dependents, and students are required to have a valid driver’s license from their state of residency and provide a copy of their DMV report.

  • Be a driver in good standing and able to obtain a SeaWorld driver's license

  • Have strong mathematical skills

  • Have the ability to write simple correspondence

  • Have strong written/verbal communication skills

  • Able to lift/move up to 50 pounds

  • Able to operate hand or power tools necessary to complete assigned tasks

  • Able to climb ladders and perform work at heights

  • Able to train for and pass SeaWorld qualification test to operate forklift and man-lift machines

  • Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment

  • Able to stand, walk and/or sit for prolonged periods of time

  • Able to positively interact with guests and co-workers of all ages, different ethnic/cultural backgrounds and/or language, and individuals with special needs Compensation: 21.50 USD Hourly
