Description:

Responsible for the safe and accurate processing of laboratory specimens and reporting of results, maintaining laboratory equipment and performing quality control in the clinical laboratory. Also responsible for specifically designated lead tech responsibilities.

Location: Shelby, MI (Oceana County)

This position is eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

What you will do:

  • Receives specimens, clarifies test requests, checks specimen integrity/labeling. Organizes, prepares and processes specimens.

  • Works independently in assigned departments with the laboratory. Performs testing, evaluates results, solves problems, documents results and communicates reports as needed.

  • Assists in training and orientation of new employees and students.

  • Performs specimen collection duties.

Qualifications:

MLS (ASCP) certification or

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology.

  • National Licensure as a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician - ASCP

​​ Language Skills:

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.

  • Additionally languages preferred.
