Schedule: Full time Shift: Day (United States of America) Address: 3000 Medical Park Dr City: Tampa State: Florida Postal Code: 33613 Job Description:
- $3,000 Sign On Bonus for Eligible Candidates
- Assesses and documents patient care needs related to wound, ostomy, and continence.
- Develops and implements nursing diagnoses and care plans for wound, ostomy, and incontinent patients.
- Conducts patient teaching on self-care and disease processes.
- Selects and manages appropriate ostomy supplies based on patient needs and abilities.
- Supports evidence-based practice by identifying expected patient outcomes and using clinical guidelines.
- Collaborates with healthcare team members to report clinical information and suggests interventions.
- Coordinates trial and selection of skin, wound, and ostomy products with the healthcare team and Materials Management Department.
- Provides ongoing education and competency training for clinical staff on skin integrity and wound care.
- Participates in discharge planning by identifying post-hospital care needs.
- Maintains professional growth by completing mandatory education, maintaining certification, and participating in professional organizations.
- Integrates ethical decision-making and research findings into daily nursing practice.
- Acts as a patient advocate and demonstrates critical thinking skills.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families, fellow staff, and physicians. [Required]
- Attends seminars, conferences, and continuing education classes, stays current with changes and advances in in all areas of wound care and shares new information by providing departmental in services and acting as a resource to all staff. [Required]
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration, and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations. [Required]
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations with the assistance of health care support personnel. [Required]
- Reports to work as scheduled and completes work within designated time and adjusts work schedule (days and times) as needed for clinic demands. [Required]
Education:
- Bachelor's of Nursing [Required]
Work Experience:
- 1+ years of practice in which leadership and teaching competence has been demonstrated [Required]
- 1+ years of wound care nursing practice experience. [Required]
- 2+ years experience as a wound ostomy nurse in hospital/outpatient setting [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) Preferred
- Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) Preferred
- Certified Ostomy Care Nurse (COCN) Preferred
- Certified Continence Care Nurse (CCCN) Preferred

Pay Range:
$31.53 - $52.24 Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)
Certain positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, as required by state law.
