Full job description
About Securities Under limited supervision, performs professional legal work for the State, its subdivisions, and officials. Assigned to the Securities Section as Assistant Attorney General.
- Represents the Securities and Money Services Sections in the investigative stages of securities and money services cases.
- Following the investigation, make recommendations regarding the appropriate resolution of assigned cases.
- Prepares pleadings related to assigned cases.
- Successfully negotiates assigned cases.
- Represent the Securities and Money Services Sections in the trial or hearing and appellate phases of assigned cases.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Division Director or the Attorney General. This position also includes an excellent benefits package: Public Service Loan Forgiveness eligibility. A Juris Doctorate Degree and at least 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney. Necessary Requirement: Must be a member and in good standing with the SC Bar. Must satisfy Rule 403 requirements.

- Position may be required to travel to court and transport files.
- Some travel is required.
- Knowledge of the laws of South Carolina. Knowledge of general case, statutory, and common law.
- Knowledge of judicial and quasi-judicial procedures and rules of guidance.
- Ability to interpret and apply laws in court decisions.
- Ability to analyze facts, evidence, and legal instruments.
- Ability to express conclusions and arguments clearly and logically.
