Job Title: Machinist Job Description

This role involves setting up and operating CNC mills to produce precision components, primarily using aluminum and stainless materials. You will perform machine setups, operate CNC equipment efficiently, and make Mastercam edits at the machine to ensure parts meet specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set up CNC milling machines for production, including selecting tools, setting offsets, and preparing fixtures and workholding.

  • Operate CNC mills to produce parts from aluminum and stainless materials according to blueprints and job specifications.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements and verify dimensions.

  • Perform Mastercam editing at the machine to adjust programs as needed for accuracy, efficiency, and quality.

  • Monitor machine operations, inspect parts during and after production, and make necessary adjustments to maintain tolerances.

  • Ensure proper use and care of Haas CNC machines and related equipment.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all shop procedures and safety guidelines.

  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot machining issues and improve processes.

  • Document production information as required, including setup details and any program changes.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience setting up and operating CNC milling machines.

  • Hands-on experience with CNC mills and general machine operating in a production environment.

  • Ability to perform CNC mill machine setup and operation from start to finish.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Experience working with aluminum and stainless materials in machining applications.

  • Ability to perform Mastercam editing directly at the machine.

  • Familiarity with Haas CNC machines.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.

  • Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Mastercam programming experience is preferred, even though only on-machine editing is required for this role.

  • Experience in a small shop environment is a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adjust programs and setups for optimal results.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a small team.

You will work hands-on with CNC mills and related tooling in a clean, organized production environment that emphasizes safety, quality, and efficient workflow.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arcadia, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
