Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Sr. Battery Cell Assembly Process Engineer to support a high-volume battery manufacturing operation focused on optimizing cell assembly processes through data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. This individual will be responsible for monitoring and improving key manufacturing performance metrics, including yield, defect rates, process capability, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), and overall process stability. On a daily basis, they will analyze SPC charts and production data to identify process variation, investigate quality trends, perform root cause analysis on assembly defects, and develop corrective actions that improve cell performance and manufacturing efficiency.
A major focus of this role will be supporting and optimizing laser welding processes within battery cell assembly. This engineer will evaluate weld quality data, analyze process parameters, investigate weld-related defects, and partner with quality, equipment, and production teams to improve process capability and product reliability. They will utilize statistical analysis, DOE (Design of Experiments), and data-driven problem-solving techniques to optimize welding recipes, reduce scrap, improve yield, and ensure consistent process performance across production lines.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in battery, automotive, semiconductor, electronics, or other high-volume manufacturing environments and possesses a deep understanding of process engineering principles. They should be comfortable working with large data sets, SPC methodologies, PFMEA, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. Experience supporting laser welding processes, yield improvement programs, defect reduction efforts, and manufacturing process optimization is highly preferred. Strong analytical skills, technical problem-solving abilities, and experience utilizing manufacturing data to drive operational improvements are essential for success in this role.
This role can pay between 95-149K based on a evaluation of total relevant YOE and Education Level.
