Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an Engineer (Development) for a top industrial automation client. This candidate will be responsible for designing and developing advanced robotic rail systems and related components, supporting both mechanical and controls engineering efforts. The role involves hands-on product development, prototyping, testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, improve product performance, and support customer implementations. This individual will play a key role in ensuring engineering excellence, supporting manufacturing integration, and delivering high-quality automation solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Day-to-Day:
• Design and develop robotic 7th Axis rail systems and related components
• Create 3D models and engineering drawings
• Test and validate new products and prototypes
• Conduct engineering design reviews and maintain ISO standards
• Collaborate with project teams and provide status updates
• Support manufacturing and integration efforts on the production floor
• Provide customer support, application guidance, and troubleshooting
• Manage cost efficiency in design solutions
• Develop testing plans and assist with product run-off validation
Deliver technical presentations and internal training
Compensation:
$40/hr to $50/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related) OR equivalent experience
• 3+ years of industrial automation design experience with CAD software
• Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Experience with ERPs/ how workflows through a corporation and how it ties together with the BOMs they draw up
• Ability to read/create electrical interface drawings, robot manuals, and mechanical prints
• Experience with:
○ Linear axis design
○ Drive sizing
○ FEA, DFM, and GD&T
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities • Dual major in electrical and mechanical engineering
• Experience interfacing robots and peripheral equipment
• Knowledge of linear-axis bearing and drive sizing specifications
• Experience with casting/ injection molding
