Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Acquisition Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead a high-visibility cybersecurity initiative supporting the Department of the Air Force's (DAF) Zero Trust strategy. This role will serve as the lead program manager for a critical enterprise security capability, working directly with senior government leadership, technical stakeholders, and industry partners to ensure successful program execution and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead Program Manager for a major cybersecurity initiative supporting the Department of the Air Force's Zero Trust objectives.

  • Oversee all program planning, execution, and acquisition activities to ensure successful delivery of mission-critical capabilities.

  • Lead program startup and transition efforts immediately following contract award, including kickoff planning, stakeholder engagement, and execution strategy development.

  • Prepare and deliver recurring executive-level briefings, status reports, and program updates to senior leadership, including the Program Executive Officer (PEO).

  • Manage a highly visible program with significant leadership oversight and evolving mission requirements.

  • Coordinate closely with government stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to accelerate schedules, mitigate risks, and maintain deployment timelines.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the program's technical architecture and integration points within existing cybersecurity and enterprise infrastructure environments.

  • Provide strategic guidance on acquisition planning, program execution, and lifecycle management.

  • Translate complex technical concepts into concise, actionable information for senior leaders and non-technical audiences.

Monitor program performance, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure mission success.

Pay rate range: 60-75/hr

Skills and Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance or ability to maintain one.

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 8+ years of experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition, program management, or cybersecurity programs.

  • Experience leading large-scale, high-visibility federal programs with executive-level stakeholder engagement.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, enterprise IT environments, and Zero Trust principles.

  • Proven experience developing and delivering briefings to senior government leaders and executives.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
