Your Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations of our cooperative community with 150 apartments in Boston's historic South End. Working closely with the Property Manager and Multi-Site Facilities Manager, the selected candidate will ensure the property is well-maintained, safe, and aesthetically pleasing for all shareholders. The duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing, scheduling, and performing in-unit repairs, preventative maintenance, and preparing apartments for new resident occupancy.

  • Overseeing completion of work orders, including light electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work, appliance repair, and general building maintenance.

  • Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment.

  • Training and mentoring staff.

  • Maintaining an elevated level of customer service for our residents.

  • Working with contractors as needed.

  • Maintaining inventory and working within a budget.

  • Scheduling and supervising maintenance personnel.

  • Ensuring the quality of work performed.

  • Updating the Yardi mobile app and communicating with the team about the status of ongoing projects.

The work hours are 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday, with on-call duties shared on rotation (every third week).

Your Qualifications:

We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills and a strong customer service philosophy. The ideal candidate will be able to train and motivate staff while working alongside them and ensuring jobs are completed with full cleanup.

  • Knowledge of general apartment repair and previous experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC work, and appliance repair is required.

  • Previous experience supervising a team of maintenance professionals is required.

  • This position includes on-call responsibilities and supervision of snow removal afterhours.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a work order management system is required; experience with Yardi is preferred.

  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required.
