Full job description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

  • Basic mathematics skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure

  • Effective computer and keyboarding skills

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • Strong prioritization skills and an ability to make decisions independently and effectively

  • Ability to operate equipment such as computers, scan guns, tablet counters, and cash registers

  • Ability to remain functional in situations of stress.

  • Ability to remain flexible with scheduling for all operational hours.

  • Holds current State of Florida license to practice as a Registered Pharmacy Technician

POSITION FUNCTIONS:

  • In accordance with state and federal regulations, assists the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Assists the pharmacist in the performance of other Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with FHCP policies and procedures.

  • Performs duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Staff Pharmacist including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct. Assists pharmacist in maintaining workflow

  • Reports, immediately, prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adheres to FHCP policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the CQI Program.

  • Responsible and accountable for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collect and handle cash as required

  • Handles telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians

  • Assists and supports the Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals

  • Assists with interior by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat, and orderly

  • Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience

  • Engages patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience

  • Complies with all company policies and procedures; maintains respectful relationships with coworkers

  • Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

  • Completion of continuing education credits as mandated by the Florida Board of Pharmacy

  • Maintains knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including the latest news and developments.
