Job Summary and Qualifications

The Mammography Technologist performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures that may apply ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology in patients. Regulates the equipment used to expose the various image receptors, completes the appropriate paperwork, and computer applications. Organizes and prepares the images for interpretation by the radiologist. Operates equipment safely and maintains ALARA standards while performing all types of procedures within the scope of the Mammographers practice. Establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments, medical staff, and our general customers.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Must have current ARRT certification with advanced certification in Mammography.

  • Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider required.

  • Previous experience as a Mammographer and X-ray Technologist preferred.

  • Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.

  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
