About This Role

In this role, you’ll step into a key leadership position that shapes how our products are built, verified, and continuously improved. This role is ideal for candidates with strong manufacturing engineering or operations backgrounds who are ready to expand their career into quality leadership.

The Quality Manager ensures that the business unit, location, or group has the systems, processes, and collaborative practices needed to remain compliant with governing quality standards while driving operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, apply, and maintain quality requirements and standards for all products within the group or location.

  • Maintain required quality records and documentation in alignment with the Quality Management System and customer requirements.

  • Partner cross-functionally to define and improve processes supporting concurrent engineering and product development.

  • Design, document, and implement methods for process control, continuous improvement, testing, and inspection.

  • Lead and promote quality standards, inspection processes, test methodologies, and quality plans. Manage certification processes for the group or location.

  • Develop and execute quality-reporting measures. Analyze trends, best practices, and risks, ensuring timely corrective actions.

  • Provide management with clear reporting on quality issues, trends, and performance.

  • Ensure processes exist for review of customer specifications, change requests, purchase orders, and contracts, and incorporate required criteria into quality and process plans.

  • Establish and maintain supplier quality requirements and ensure proper review of supplier purchase orders.

  • Conduct internal quality audits in accordance with documented processes and standards.

  • Maintain standards for calibration of mechanical and electrical test equipment, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.

  • Interface with external auditors, suppliers, and customer quality representatives to ensure effective quality systems and corrective action processes.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

BS degree in Engineering, Quality, Business, or a related field.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in quality, manufacturing engineering, operations, or similar process-driven environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate with urgency, accountability, and results orientation.

  • Technical expertise with exposure to complex organizations, ideally including development or production environments.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive quality priorities across teams.

  • Effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to perform within budgetary guidelines.

  • Experience developing procedures, business systems, or process methodologies; quality-specific experience welcomed but not required.

  • Confident decision-maker with an open, candid communication style and ability to energize teams.

  • Proven ability to build and develop strong, reliable teams.

  • Skilled in project management, business systems, and process flow mapping.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Operates within the Textron Business Conduct Guidelines.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead or contribute to product, process, and cultural change initiatives

  • Ability to obtain/maintain a government secret security clearance.

The pay range should be used as a general guide only. Compensation is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

In compliance with the local pay transparency law, the pay range for this position is

$124,300 - $189,700 per year.
