Full job description

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support a healthcare organization in McLean, Virginia on a Long-term Contract basis. This role will oversee key revenue accounting activities tied to provider agreements, with a strong emphasis on ASC 606 compliance and accurate financial reporting. The position also offers leadership responsibility for a small revenue accounting team while helping maintain timely close processes and day-to-day accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage revenue accounting activities related to healthcare provider contracts, ensuring treatment aligns with ASC 606 guidance.

  • Supervise and support a small team within the revenue function, providing direction, review, and day-to-day coordination of work.

  • Lead selected month-end close activities, including preparing accruals, recording journal entries, and maintaining general ledger accuracy.

  • Oversee billing-related accounting tasks and help resolve issues that may affect revenue recognition or reporting timelines.

  • Prepare account reconciliations and investigate variances to support complete and accurate financial records.

  • Contribute to the preparation of financial statement disclosures associated with revenue and other assigned areas.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to address accounting questions, complete special analyses, and handle additional projects as needed. Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in revenue accounting.

  • Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 and its application to revenue recognition and related disclosures.

  • Hands-on background in month-end close activities, including accruals, journal entries, and general ledger support.

  • Proficiency in account reconciliation and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

  • Experience leading or mentoring a small accounting or revenue team.

  • Ability to manage billing-related accounting responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and deadlines.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills in a fast-paced accounting environment.
