Job Duties
Conversational Bridgeport / Manual Mill Operator
Key Responsibilities
-Operate and set up Bridgeport mills with conversational ACU-RITE controls
-Perform manual milling operations with a high level of accuracy
-Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
-Make offsets, adjustments, and minor edits directly at the machine
-Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools
-Maintain tight tolerances and produce high-quality components
-Perform basic machine maintenance and ensure safe operation
-Work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
-Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding job status and requirements
Minimum Education Required
High School Diploma
Minimum Experience Required
Required Experience
-Strong manual mill background — must have extensive hands-on experience
-Experience operating Bridgeport mills with conversational controls
-Ability to set up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces
-Solid understanding of machining fundamentals, feeds/speeds, and cutting tools
-Ability to troubleshoot issues at the machine
-Comfortable working with minimal supervision
Preferred Skills
-Experience with ACU-RITE or similar conversational CNC systems
-Ability to run additional shop equipment (lathe, saw, grinder, etc.)
-Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
