Job Title: Assembler - Finishing

Job Description

As an Assembler - Finishing, you work with large sheet metal components to help create high-quality finished enclosures. You accurately measure, position, and secure parts, perform basic tack welding, and complete a variety of finishing tasks such as fastening, component installation, and paint touch-ups to ensure the final product meets specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and position sheet metal pieces (typically 10–15 feet in length) accurately according to blueprints and shop drawings.

  • Perform small tack welds to temporarily secure components in place before final welding is completed.

  • Button, bolt, and glue parts and hardware to the final product using appropriate hand and power tools.

  • Add and install components to enclosures, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and functionality.

  • Touch up paint on finished products to meet visual and quality requirements.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings to understand assembly requirements and sequence of work.

  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to assemble and finish sheet metal products.

  • Verify measurements with a tape measure and confirm that assemblies meet specified dimensions.

  • Work collaboratively with welders and other team members to maintain an efficient production flow.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how parts fit and function together.

  • Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure for precise measurements.

  • Experience using hand tools and power tools in an assembly or construction setting.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.

  • Basic understanding of assembly processes for sheet metal or similar materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Assembly experience in a manufacturing or construction environment is a plus.

  • Construction experience, especially framing, is preferred.

  • Trade school education or certifications in welding or construction are preferred.

  • Ability to perform small tack welds is an advantage.

  • Comfort working with large sheet metal components and industrial equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
