WM is hiring a Lead Maintenance Technician- Incinerator. Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Lead Maintenance Technician plans and performs preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on plant equipment, installs and troubleshoots systems, follows safe work practices, and documents work while supporting safety and training initiatives.

Successful candidates bring High School Diploma Or GED Equivalent, 3 Years Related Experience Or Training In Plant Or Manufacturing Environment, and 4+ Years Related Experience And/Or Training Identifying Repairs And Assuring Scheduled Production Run Is Met. Important skills include Diagnostic Evaluation, Workflow Management, Priority Setting, Preventive Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, and Scheduled Maintenance.

Pay Rate: $34.00 per hour. Paid weekly.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM. On-Call 24/7 is mandatory.

I. Job Summary

Under direction of the Maintenance Manager, plan and perform all maintenance functions, including but not limited to preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all equipment throughout the plant. Install, troubleshoot and maintain all plant equipment in proper operating condition by applying safe workplace practices, following preventive maintenance programs and procedures, and developing/documenting, best-industry practices.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic evaluation on equipment and make repairs when needed. Ensure that repairs are performed safely, properly and in the shortest amount of time possible to maintain the highest level of operational readiness.

  • Oversees workflow and sets priorities within the maintenance shop. Plan and schedule all in-house repairs. Lead maintenance team and oversee outside contractors making repairs to the facility.

  • Safely performs or guides preventive, corrective, and scheduled maintenance daily on a variety of machinery within the plant. This machinery includes:

  • Fire tube boiler and ancillary equipment, steam delivery systems, water softeners and other water treatment equipment, air handling equipment, commercial washers, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and conveyor systems.

  • Incinerator process equipment/systems maintenance, including burners, CEMs , high temperature refractory, controls, PLC, combustion air blowers, pressure controls and conveyance systems.

  • Steam turbine and electrical generator systems.

  • Air pollution control devices, to include bag houses, evaporative coolers, acid absorbers, and carbon beds.

  • General air pneumatics, including air compressors, regulators, solenoid valves, 2-way and 3-way valve, tubing installation, pneumatic pumps and related systems.

  • Performs light electrical maintenance on all plant equipment to include 480V/240V/120V/24V powers systems.

  • Document results through completed work orders based on schedule and priority or as required.

  • Provide training, direction and assistance to Technicians, Operators, and Laborers as needed.

  • Vigorously support WMHS's commitment to Safety by complying with safety regulations and maintaining clean and orderly work areas.

  • Performs other related duties as required or requested.

III. Qualifications

A. Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited) equivalent.

  • 3 years’ related experience or training in a plant or manufacturing environment, demonstrating strong communication skills and tact and

  • 4 years or more years of related experience and/or training, demonstrating the ability to identify repairs that are needed and to assure scheduled production run is met and

  • 1 year of experience overseeing the work of others.

B. Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License
