Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Lab Supervisor, you will be a pivotal leader, directly contributing to the development of annual departmental goals, objectives, and budget, while actively facilitating their achievement and ensuring ongoing evaluation of results for continuous improvement.

You possess exceptional communication skills, excelling in both individual coaching and group presentations. Furthermore, your ability to conduct challenging conversations with professionalism and empathy is crucial, as you are directly responsible for cultivating high performance within your team and ensuring the overall success of the laboratory.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervises, coaches, and reviews the performance of laboratory personnel to ensure adherence to relevant policies and ethics

  • Oversees designated laboratory day-to-day operations and exercises authority over personnel decisions

  • Analyzes and interprets laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory work processes

  • Administers laboratory inventories such as supplies, equipment and consumables

  • Selection of test methodology that is appropriate for the clinical use of the test results

  • Verification of the test procedures performed and establishment of the laboratory's test performance characteristics, including the precision and accuracy of each test and test system

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological or chemical sciences, as defined by CLIA, upon hire and

  • Minimum of five years at a moderate or high complexity laboratory, upn hire and

  • International Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP-IMLS), upon hire or

  • Blood Banking (BB), upon hire or

  • Chemistry - ASCP (CASCP), upon hire or

  • Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), upon hire or

  • Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT-NCA), upon hire or

  • Doctor of Medicine: AZ (MD:AZ), upon hire or

  • Medical Laboratory Scientist - Med Technologist (MLS), upon hire or

  • Medical Technologist AAB (MT-AAB), upon hire or

  • Technologist in Microbiology (MMT-ASCP), upon hire or

  • Medical Technologist AMT (MT-AMT), upon hire or

  • Technologist in Microbiology (MMT-ASCP), upon hire or

  • Specialist in Hematology (SH-ASCP), upon hire or

  • Histotechnologist (HTL), upon hire

Preferred:

  • One year experience as a supervisor or higher

Where You'll Work

St. Luke’s Health – Memorial San Augustine is an 18 bed critical access hospital. This 18-bed hospital is the area's only certified critical access hospital full accreditation by the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Services include emergency care, MRI, CT, digital mammography and telemedicine for fast results. A fully accredited dialysis center, operated by Sankar Nephrology, is also located on campus.

Pay Range

$35.53 - $52.85 /hour
