Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description

This role focuses on final inspection of small, intricate, gold-plated parts primarily through visual checks, with occasional use of micrometers to ensure precise measurements. You will follow simple process sheets, perform basic cutting and deburring tasks, and carefully file parts as needed to meet strict quality standards for components used in the satellite industry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform final visual inspections of small, intricate parts to ensure they meet quality and specification requirements.

  • Use micrometers when needed to take precise measurements and verify that parts meet dimensional tolerances.

  • File parts and smooth edges as required to achieve proper fit and finish.

  • Cut gold-plated parts according to instructions and process sheets, ensuring accuracy and care.

  • Carry out cutting and deburring tasks wherever needed; learn and apply these techniques as training is provided.

  • Work from simple process sheets, following written instructions accurately to complete each step of the inspection process.

  • Read and write in English to interpret process documentation, record findings, and communicate with team members.

  • Handle and inspect small components carefully, maintaining focus and attention to detail throughout the shift.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient and accurate inspection activities.

  • Collaborate with a team of inspectors to meet production and quality goals in the final inspection area.

Essential Skills

  • At least 6 months of bench inspection experience or 6 months of bench assembly experience.

  • Experience with quality inspection or general production work.

  • Ability to perform visual inspection of small, detailed parts with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to use a micrometer or willingness to learn and use micrometers for precise measurements.

  • Ability to read and write in English to follow process sheets and communicate effectively.

  • Comfortable sitting for the duration of the shift (Monday–Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm).

  • Detail-oriented mindset, especially when working with smaller, intricate parts for the satellite industry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with bench assembly, packing, or general production work.

  • Experience in roles requiring fine detail work such as nail technician or seamstress.

  • Familiarity with blueprints or ability to learn basic blueprint reading.

  • Bilingual abilities are a strong plus.

  • Willingness to learn cutting and deburring techniques as training is provided.

Work Environment

This position is based in the final inspection area within a production facility. You will work a steady Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The team currently includes about 12 inspectors, with plans to add 14 more, creating a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Work is primarily seated and bench-based, involving close-up inspection of small components and the use of basic inspection tools such as micrometers. The setting emphasizes precision, focus, and adherence to process sheets while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glastonbury, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
