Department: Inpatient Rehabilitation- Speech Language Pathology
Shift’s Available:Days
Employment Type:Per Diem/PRN
Hours:8-hour shift (Some Weekends will be required)
Location:Saint John Hospital, Leavenworth, KS
ASpeech-Language Pathologist (SLP)specializes in diagnosing and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. SLPs work with individuals of all ages to improve communication skills and enhance quality of life by developing and implementing individualized treatment plans. Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) work closely with other healthcare professionals and educate patients and family members about communication strategies to improve the patient's speech in their daily life.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):

Assess and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
-
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

Provide therapy to improve articulation, fluency, voice disorders, and language comprehension.

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other relevant professionals.

Maintain detailed records of patient evaluation, treatment, and progress.

Educate clients and family members about communication strategies.
-
Stay updated on clinical research and advances in speech-language pathology.
Qualifications
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's in Speech Therapy

Licensed by the state in Speech-Language Pathology

Current BLS for healthcare providers' certification upon hire and maintain current certification
Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology
-
One year of experience with swallow assessment and treatment in an acute care hospital setting

One year of experience in acute care
