What you'll do:
As a Dental and Business Assistant you will work to enhance the daily operations of the clinic by providing excellent care and communication to our patients.
Dental Assistant Responsibilities:
-
Prepares, sterilizes, disinfects, and maintains dental equipment, instruments, and supplies

Collects and records patient health histories and x-rays
-
Ensures patient comfort during dental procedures

Completes charting of treatment information in the patients' dental notes from the doctor as directed
-
Assist doctor in management of medical and dental emergencies
-
Delivers postoperative and general oral care instructions to patient
-
Maintains infection control procedures, patient privacy, and professional interactions with patients and staff

Assist administrative team with customer service functions
Patient Relations & Front Office Responsibilities:

Greet and welcome patients in a warm, positive, and professional manner.

Handle patient records confidentially and respectfully, adhering to all HIPAA privacy standards.

Answer phones courteously using excellent customer service skills; relay messages accurately.

Promptly respond to voicemails, emails, and texts from patients.

Provide clear instructions, directions, and thorough answers to patient questions.

• Schedule patient appointments and maintain an organized daily schedule.
-
Create and manage new patient accounts in the Practice Management System.
-
Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits.
-
Coordinate communication and workflow between front office and clinical staff.

Manage unscheduled treatment plans and recall lists.
-
Place appointment reminder calls, texts, or emails.
-
Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized front reception area.
-
Assist in coordinating temporary staffing coverage as needed.

Review treatment plans with patients and explain treatment and payment options.
Education and Experience:
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant with front desk knowledge/insurance
-
Spanish-English bilingual skills are required
-
Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting Program or dental assistant experience preferred but not required
-
Previous customer service or office experience
-
Proficiency or the ability to become proficient within 90 days in dental terminology and dental software for charting, treatment planning, clinical notes, etc.

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Foster a positive attitude and be a team player
Compensation starting at $22.00 per hour.
Patient Care Hours:
Monday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
