Important skills include Technical Knowledge Of Product & Manufacturing Systems, Commercial Acumen, Financial Acumen, Understanding Of Customer, Market, And Competitive Dynamics In An OEM/Tier 1 Environment, Negotiation Skills, and Written Communication Skills. Preferred (not required): Advanced Commercial Or Sales Related Training.

We, at Leggett Dynamics, are searching for aSenior Sales Manager (m/f/d) within our Sales team to help support our Automotive business. Did you know we are the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of seating support and comfort systems for transportation manufacturers, as well as tier one and two suppliers within the automotive industry? That’s right! Our automotive products fall into four primary groups: Seating and Lumbar support, Wireless Charging, Motors and Actuators, and Mechanical Cables. If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.

As aSenior Sales Manager (m/f/d)you will have the opportunity to own and grow a defined portfolio of key OEM and Tier 1 customer accounts by leading all commercial activities, securing profitable new business, and maintaining strong customer intimacy. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by managing well established customer accounts as well as acquisition of new customers. The team you will be working with is cross functional, located in Nuremberg as well as in European, Chinese and North American technology centres and plants.

Additionally, you'll:

  • Manage a defined portfolio of key OEM and Tier 1 customers, driving commercial performance and profitable growth in line with the company's strategic plan

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the customer portfolio in alignment with regional sales objectives and market requirements

  • Provide accurate customer inputs to Demand Planning for the assigned customer portfolio, monitor market pricing, and maintain correct pricing and data consistency in sales database

  • Prepare and drive quote reviews within defined approval frameworks, ensure compliance with commercial thresholds (EBIT, ROI, CAPEX, annual revenue, and LTAs) and negotiate with customers based on a clear value

  • Manage commercial and commodity related customer interactions, maintain strong customer intimacy, and ensure competition and market intelligence as well as related analyses remain current

  • Plan and coordinate long term customer meetings to ensure the availability of relevant internal functions while maintaining cost awareness as well as support fair and Tech Day preparation and participation

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure customer requirements are accurately captured, maintained and communicated, including complete and timely RFQ input in QLM, while ensuring confidentiality of business critical information

  • Ensure continuous and up to date application of relevant commercial systems, tools and processes in line with current standards and requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a comparable technical discipline

  • Advanced commercial or sales related training is an advantage

  • 5+ years of progressive Sales experience in Automotive, preferably Automotive Interior

  • Strong technical knowledge of product & manufacturing systems

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen

  • Deep understanding of customer, market, and competitive dynamics in an OEM/Tier 1 environment

  • Excellent negotiation skills as well as written & verbal communication skills

  • Good knowledge of MS Office

  • Fluent English and French language skills
