Position Specific Description

The principal duties of the Instrument and Control Technician consist of performing corrective and preventative maintenance and calibration of electronic and pneumatic instrument and control components and channels, plant computer and microprocessor systems, together with installation of new instruments and controls. This employee also performs special and miscellaneous duties as assigned. The Instrument and Control occupations will apply industrial safety and radiation protection in strict compliance with applicable plant regulations, licenses and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • The applicant must have an associate degree in electronics (AAS), Electronic Technology, or Instrument Technology or have completed equivalent education as demonstrated by two years of relevant electrical engineering course work. If the associate degree or two years of engineering course work are not in the electronics or electrical field, the applicant must have comparable electrical course work or military training to provide a good fundamental knowledge of electrical and electronics theory or have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering.

  • Must meet Site Specific ANSI Qualification: Shall have a minimum of three years in one or more crafts. They should possess a high degree of manual dexterity and ability and should be capable of learning and applying basic skills in maintenance operations

  • Pass Maintenance Abilities Selection System (MASS) test

  • Positions in Nuclear Power Business Unit requiring unescorted access to Point Beach Nuclear Plant require applicants to satisfy all Company and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) security requirements
