Power & Construction Group, Inc. has an opening for a Field Technician with KBH Environmental!

Salary Range: $23-$28/hr. based on experience

Location: Rochester, NY

Job Description: We are seeking a Field Technician to help us carry out our environmental services. This role will serve as a member of the field crew on various projects such as clean up and removal of hazardous & non-hazardous spills and asbestos abatement.

Specific responsibilities of the Field Technician will include, but not be limited to:

  • Perform non-routine and occasionally heavy labor tasks related to the clean-up or abatement of on-site industrial waste and hazardous waste.

  • RIGOROUSLY follow OSHA, EPA, and local regulations in carrying out responsibilities.

  • Maintain and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators.

  • Set up containment areas with barriers and ventilation on asbestos abatement jobs.

  • Properly package and dispose of hazardous or potentially hazardous materials.

  • Collect samples and maintain documentation and chain of custody.

  • Operate trucks, pumps, vacuum equipment, generators, and other machinery/equipment.

  • Maintain appropriate log of activities.

  • Clean and decontaminate work areas, tools, and equipment.

  • Serve on the “on call” rotation and available for spill response 24/7 as required.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • Basic understanding of environmental regulations, including but not limited to EPA RCRA, TSCA, DOT Hazmat, ICR-56, and NY PCB regulations.

  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training; we can provide.

  • 10 Hour OSHA Training, we can provide.

  • NYSDOL Asbestos License. Supervisor preferred.

  • Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in a physically strenuous and demanding job in all types of weather.

  • Must be familiar with and able to use basic hand tools.

  • Must be flexible to changes in schedule, travel and be available for “on call” status.

  • Ability to read a map and follow directions is a must.

  • HIGHLY reliable.

  • NY CDL Class A or B in good standing is a plus

  • Confined space trained
