Role Overview

The Senior Broadcast Systems Engineer (Pre-Sales), EMEA is a strategic, customer-facing technical leader within NETGEAR's growing Broadcast business. Combining deep expertise in IP networking and broadcast workflows with strong commercial awareness, you will support partners, influence solution design, and drive adoption of NETGEAR solutions across EMEA.

As the technical face of NETGEAR in the broadcast ecosystem, you will work closely with OEM partners, system integrators, production facilities, and enterprise studios - validating solutions, supporting pre-sales engagements, and positioning NETGEAR as the trusted networking partner for modern IP-based media environments.

This is a UK-based role with regional responsibility across EMEA. Frequent travel, including internationally, of up to 60% is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior technical authority for IP networking within broadcast and live production environments across EMEA

  • Lead pre-sales engagements by designing and validating network architectures for broadcast and professional A/V customers

  • Collaborate with OEM partners (e.g., Riedel, EVS, Clear-Com, Panasonic, Grass Valley) to ensure interoperability and joint solution alignment

  • Design and support IP-based media workflows including AES67, Dante, Ravenna, SMPTE ST 2110, NDI, and IPMX

  • Build and maintain lab environments, testbeds, and demos for validation, partner enablement, and customer engagements

  • Partner with Sales, Business Development, and Alliances to drive technical win strategies and shape solution design early in the sales cycle

  • Deliver technical enablement for internal SE teams and partners through training, documentation, and best practices

  • Provide field feedback to Product and Engineering on switching performance, multicast behaviour, QoS, redundancy models, and timing-sensitive environments

  • Represent NETGEAR at industry events such as NAB, IBC, and InfoComm through demos, presentations, and thought leadership

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in broadcast, live production, or professional A/V environments combined with a strong foundation in IP networking

  • Practical knowledge of broadcast audio and IP video technologies: AES67, Dante, Ravenna, SMPTE ST 2110, NDI, and IPMX

  • Experience supporting production facilities, OB trucks, post-production, intercom systems, or enterprise studios

  • Prior customer-facing experience in pre-sales engineering, system design, or technical consulting

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams

  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 60%), including internationally across EMEA

Core Technical Skills

  • Layer 2/3 networking: VLANs, link aggregation, and network segmentation

  • Multicast design and troubleshooting: IGMP behaviour, scaling, and optimisation

  • QoS design for real-time media traffic, including prioritisation of latency- and timing-sensitive flows

  • Timing and synchronisation in IP media networks: PTP concepts, clocking considerations, and network impact

  • Redundancy and high-availability design for media networks

  • Bandwidth planning and traffic modelling for high-bandwidth video environments

  • Scalable network topologies including spine-leaf architectures

  • Monitoring and troubleshooting using packet capture, traffic analysis, and network telemetry tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with IP-based orchestration, control, or monitoring platforms (e.g., TAG, Nevion, Evertz)

  • Experience supporting or designing networks for live production environments such as studios, OB trucks, live events, or esports

  • Exposure to WAN or remote production workflows (e.g., contribution networks, latency-sensitive transport)

  • Familiarity with VXLAN/EVPN concepts in larger-scale network environments

  • Familiarity with REST APIs, automation, or scripting (e.g., Python) is a plus

This role is primarily hybrid but fully remote candidates based in England will also be considered.
