Would you like to be part of a team focused on increasing awareness and adoption of Amazon Web Services (AWS) by engaging with key Public Sector systems partners and solutions providers who are reinventing their IT strategy by adopting and delivering cloud computing solutions? Do you have the business savvy, business development experience and the technical knowledge necessary to help further establish Amazon as a leading cloud platform provider?

As an AWS Sr. Partner Manager, you will have the exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and adoption of Amazon Web Services in Public Sector. Your mission will be to develop and lead a team of Partner Development Managers globally creating AWS awareness, adoption and AWS competency with a portfolio of large System Integrators (SI). In this role, you will establish deep business relationships with AWS partners to successfully drive the adoption of key programs focused on Public Sector partners. The ideal candidate will possess a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact at the executive level. He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about the mission, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions. In addition, a basic understanding of Cloud essentials is necessary to be successful in this role.

This role will lead the efforts for a US team of Public Sector Partner Development Managers (PDMs) direct reports in the US who are providing dedicated coverage for a portfolio of Systems Integrator. You will be responsible for growing adoption and usage of AWS Partner Programs as measured by a number of key metrics including revenue. You will work very closely with the AWS and Partner sales teams to drive joint sales engagement, as well as strategically plan for development of future opportunities and pursuits. Candidates should also have strong Public Sector industry experience and demonstrated the ability to think and act strategically on the government customer mission, industry directions, and partner/customer technical challenges.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Partner Managers across multiple global markets.

  • This role requires domestic travel

  • Understand and navigate Public Sector contracting vehicles and procedures.

  • Understand the technical considerations and certifications specific to the Public Sector.

  • Execute the strategic sales & business development plan while working with key internal and external stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, service teams, legal, support, etc.).

  • Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the solutions architecture team to guide the direction of our product offerings.

  • Prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to assigned targets.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of business development, partner development, sales or alliances management experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience

  • 7+ years of direct sales and/or partner management experience leading teams across multiple markets.

  • 3+ years of experience with outsourcing or managed services, consulting, cloud migration activities, or hosted and managed services in the technology industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience representing AWS within the customer's environment and driving discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management, and risk mitigation

  • Experience working with systems integrators and consulting companies to achieve sales

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and sales incentives. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
