Duties and Responsibilities:
May include all or part of the following but not limited to:
-
Review menu prior to preparation of food.
-
Assist in planning regular and special diet menus in accordance with sanitary regulations
-
Assist in establishing food service production to assure that meals are prepared on time
-
Prepare meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
-
Prepare food in accordance with recipes and special diets
-
Prepare substitute foods
-
Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures
-
Coordinate dietary services with other departments as necessary
-
Assist in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, etc. as necessary
-
Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available
-
Make sure that all food items are properly stored, covered and dated in all refrigerators in the kitchen, remove out dated food items in accordance to the policies & procedures of the department.

Ensure that the kitchen is maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment are maintained
-
Assist maintain food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times

Report all hazardous conditions/equipment to the FSD or designee.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Qualifications & Requirements: High School/ GED
1 year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred but not required with experience in the following areas: Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities. Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., the appearance of dietary service area, and must perform regular inspections of dietary service for sanitation, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties
