As a Field Service Technician for Airgas USA, LLC, you will contribute to the installation, maintenance, identifying and resolving, and repair of various gas and welding equipment at customer sites throughout the Louisville, KY area. This role supports optimal performance and safety of our products, providing essential support to our valued customers. This role requires significant travel (75%) and adherence to all federal, state, and local codes, as well as Airgas policies.
In this role, you will contribute to the reliability of gas delivery systems, welding equipment, and related machinery at customer locations through scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
Ideally, you bring the ability to understand and resolve equipment malfunctions, understanding root causes to implement effective repair solutions.
You will help our customers by installing new gas and welding equipment, ensuring proper setup, calibration, and a shared commitment to safety standards.
Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and develop maintenance schedules to support system longevity and minimize downtime.
Provide technical support and foster understanding with customers regarding the proper operation and maintenance of Airgas equipment.
Maintain accurate service records, documentation of repairs, and a well-organized inventory of parts used.
Maintain alignment with all safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory requirements while performing duties.
We are looking for someone to care for a company service vehicle, including maintaining inventory, cleanliness, and performing routine inspections.
Communicate effectively and foster understanding with customers, sales teams, and internal departments regarding service calls and equipment status.
Participate in a collaborative on-call rotation for emergency service as required.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in field service, industrial maintenance, or a related technical role.
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with a proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment.
Proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate a company vehicle safely.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor, hot/cold).
Commitment to safety and adherence to all company and industry safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or technical certification in a relevant field (e.g., HVAC, industrial mechanics, electronics) preferred.
Experience with gas delivery systems, welding equipment, or industrial gas applications is highly desirable.
Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to prioritize service calls.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
