? About the Role
The Educational Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) plays a vital role in ensuring deaf and hard-of-hearing students have full access to communication, instruction, and school activities. Using American Sign Language (ASL) and other interpreting methods, you’ll provide high-quality 1:1 support that empowers students to participate confidently in their learning environment.
This position offers a meaningful opportunity to support an elementary student during in-person school hours, with the potential for additional hours during extracurricular activities.
?? What You’ll Do

Provide 1:1 ASL interpretation for an elementary student

Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities

Facilitate communication between the student, peers, and staff

Support IEP-related communication needs

Collaborate with the SPED team and district interpreter staff

Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to educational standards

Assist with communication access during extracurricular activities (as needed)
